ARKANSAS BLACK SPUR APPLE Large, late season. Dark red
skin, high quality even where summer nights are warm. For dessert and
cooking. Keeps many months. 800 hours. Partly self-fruitful.
FUJI APPLE Recent introduction from Japan that quickly became
California's favorite apple. Sweet, very crisp and flavorful, excellent
keeper. Dull reddish-orange skin, sometimes russeted. Ripe
mid-September. Excellent pollenizer for other apple varieties. Low
chilling requirement - less than 500 hours. Self-fruitful.
GALA APPLE (Original Gala) Wonderful dessert apple from New
Zealand. Crisp, nice blend of sweetness and tartness, rich flavor. Skin
reddish-orange over yellow. Early harvest, 2-3 weeks before Red
Delicious. Good pollenizer for other varieties. Adapted to cold and
warm-winter climates. Chilling requirement apparently less than 500
hours. Self-fruitful.
GOLDEN DELICIOUS APPLE (Yellow Delicious) Long-time favorite
for its sweetness and flavor. Reliable producer, adapted to many climates.
Pollenizer for Red Delicious. Mid-season harvest (September in Central
Calif.). 700 hours. Self-fruitful.
GRANNY SMITH APPLE From New Zealand. Large, late, green,
all-purpose. Crisp, tart, excellent keeper. Requires long summer.
Thrives in hot climates. 600 hours. Prolonged bloom: good pollenizer
for other apples. Self-fruitful.
RED DELICIOUS APPLE (Bisbee Spur) Sweet, crisp, flavorful -
perhaps the best Red Delicious. Early fall. Small, compact tree. Good
pollenizer for most other apples. 700 hours. Pollenized by Liberty,
Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Fuji, Gala.
CHINESE (MORMON) APRICOT Cold hardy, frost hardy, sets heavy

BING CHERRY Large, firm, juicy, sweet, nearly black when ripe -

MONTMORENCY SOUR CHERRY Large, light red skin, yellow

STELLA CHERRY Self-fruitful - no pollenizer needed. Large, nearly
black, richly flavored sweet cherry similar to its parent, Lambert. Late
harvest. 500-600 hours. Pollinates Bing, except in mild winter climates.
BABCOCK WHITE PEACH Long-time favorite white-fleshed
freestone. Sweet and juicy, aromatic, low in acid. High-scoring in taste
tests. Ripens mid-July in Central Calif. Widely adapted (low chill
requirement, yet not early blooming). 250-300 hours. Self-fruitful.
ELBERTA PEACH Famous yellow freestone. Classic, rich, peach
flavor: high-scoring in taste tests. Use fresh, canned, cooked. Ripe late
July/early August in Central Calif., up to 3-4 weeks later in colder

RELIANCE PEACH Late blooming. Very cold hardy/frost hardy.
Sweet, flavorful yellow freestone - best choice for climates having severe

BARTLETT PEAR .World's most popular pear. Early mid-season,
high quality, tolerates hot summers. 800 hours. Self-fruitful in most

20TH CENTURY ASIAN PEAR (Nijisseiki, "Apple Pear") Juicy,
sweet, mild-flavored fruit is crisp like apple. Early to mid-August in
Central Calif. Keeps well. Easy to grow, heavy bearing small tree. 450
hours. Self-fruitful or poll. by Shinseiki, Bartlett, or other.
SHINSEIKI ASIAN PEAR Juicy, sweet, refreshing, crisp like an apple.
Easy to grow. Keeps well. Harvest late July/early August in Central
Calif. Bright yellow skin. Vigorous, heavy bearing (usually by 2nd year).

SANTA ROSA PLUM Most popular plum in California & Arizona.
Juicy, tangy, flavorful. Reddish-purple skin, amber flesh tinged red. Late

BRADFORD FLOWERING PEAR Pyrus calleryana ÔBradfordÕ One
of the most popular ornamental deciduous trees. Snow-white bloom in
spring. Attractive glossy foliage turns red in fall. Moderately upright
growth to 40 ft. or more.
KRAUTER VESUVIUS FLOWERING PLUM Dark purple leaves,
light pink blossoms, little or no fruit. Relatively small tree, 18' high, 12'
wide. Favorite purple-leaf plum for California. Foliage of newly planted
trees sometimes greenish til vigorous growth begins.
RAYWOOD ASH - Fraxinus oxycarpa `Raywoodi' Fast-growing,
tolerates heat, cold, alkaline soil. Compact, round-headed. Small,
delicate leaves, lacy appearance. Purplish-red fall color. No seeds.

ROSEHILL ASH - Fraxinus americana `RosehillÕ Fast growing White
Ash cultivar. Dark green foliage turns a bronze-red in fall. Grows to 60 ft.

EUROPEAN WHITE BIRCH - Betula pendula Most popular

SIOUXLAND COTTONWOOD (COTTONLESS) - Populus canadensis

PURPLE ROBE LOCUST - Robinia idahoensis `Purple Robe' Shapely

BLOODGOOD LONDON PLANE - Platanus acerfolia `Bloodgood'

AUTUMN BLAZE¨ MAPLE - Acer freemanii New hybrid of silver

ARIZONA SYCAMORE - Platanus wrightii Medium sizedd tree 60-80
ft. With star shaped leaves having 3-5 sharply pointed lobes. Open,
spreading canopy and exfoliating, "jigsaw puzzle" bark. Native to riparian
areas of southern Arizona, New Mexico, and Northern Mexico.
GLOBE WILLOW - Salix matsudana `Umbraculifera' Fast growing to
35' x 35'. Round (umbrella) shaped canopy, long narrow leaves. Short
dormant period. Drought tolerant, adapted to most zones including high
desert.
